Times of Refreshing
God has designed the church to be a place of genuine spiritual refreshment. Times of refreshing come as we gather together in the Word and prayer, obediently applying the the truth of God and ministering to one another.
1. God designed the sabbath with refreshment in mind.
Exodus 31:17; 23:12; Mark 2:27
The sabbath was to be a rest "unto" the Lord. Ex. 35:2
While we are not bound by the sabbath laws, we do see the intent of God for man to rest, unto Him, with the result being refreshment.
2. Times in close fellowship with the Lord, brings refreshment.
Acts 3:19; Matthew 11:29; Those times of close fellowship come in the Word and prayer, a communion that can be done outside the church, but should always be done when we gather as a church.
3. The church is a place of refreshment.
Romans 15:32
4. People cna have the ministry of refreshment in our lives.
Examples: 1 Corinthians 16:18; 2 Corinthians 7:13; 2 Timothy 1:16; As we do the things these people did, we bring refreshment to others.
