Thy Word is Truth
Because our God is the "true" God, everything He says is true. The Bible is the Word of God. Therefore we have the very clear statement of Jesus: "Thy word is truth", and we have the confidence that the Bible is God's truth.

God is true in the sense that he is genuine, the only real authentic God.
God is true in the sense that everything He says in true.
1. Because God's nature/being is "true", everything He says must be true.
a. God is omniscient, therefore nothing could ever be discovered that will prove Him false.
b. God is holy, therefore He cannot deliberately twist or distort or hide truth in order to deceive.
c. God is true, therefore He cannot lie. 1 Samuel 15:29; Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18
2. The Bible is the Word of God. It is "what He says." 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21
a. As the Word of God, there can be no false statement or error in any part of Scripture.
b. The Bible cannot just "contain" the truth.
c. The Bible cannot be less than "verbally" inspired.
d. The Bible cannot be only true in spiritual matters and not historical and scientific matters.
