The Joy of a Christian's Life

The Christian's life is meant to be a joyful life. Do you have that joy? Is a large portion of your Christian life lived in a joyless condition? What will bring me that joy?

Beginning observations:

1. There is an urgent need for the church today to develop or recover a biblical joy.

2. People are attracted to joy. It's what they want and will pursue.

3. If we don't have and display a genuine biblical joy, people will attempt to get it someplace else or some other way.

4. There are inherent dangers in going to search for joy because joy can be found in many things. Biblical joy is sourced in God  alone.

5. When we are joyless we misrepresent Christ and Christianity and fail in our commission to take the gospel to the lost in word and with our "lives."

A. God wants us to have real joy.

1. Jesus wanted His joy to be in them and for it to be full.  John 15:11

2. This joy was the testimony of the beginnings of the church. Acts 2:46;  13:52;   15:3

3. Developing/Growing joy was a concern of the leaders of the church.  2 Corinthians 1:24;  1 John 1:4

4. God commands us to rejoice.  Philippians 4:4.  Joy is not just for "super-Christians." Joy is not just for certain personality types. Joy is to be the normal experience of every Christian.
