They were spoken miraculously and therefore those languages were not able to be duplicated by human means. The tongues were spoken instantaneously without copying sounds they had heard before or had attempted to learn. The gift of tongues in 1 Corinthians 12-14 is the same as the tongues spoken at Pentecost for the language of both passages is the same and there is no indication that something different is happening.
